Thank you, Panda Express

It’s no secret that we’re big fans of our local Panda Express- not only are they fundraising rock stars and proud supporters of The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital… but we also love to treat ourselves to some orange chicken!

Yesterday, the Maine Mall made the decision to close temporarily, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Panda Express restaurant in the mall’s food court immediately reached out to see if they could donate a meal to staff at BBCH and Maine Medical Center. In a time that was surely stressful for their team, we are humbled that their first thought was to turn the situation into a way to help.

While things moved too quickly for us to get photos, the team at Panda Express cooked up everything that wasn’t frozen, and generously delivered it straight to the Emergency Department. Our adult and pediatric care teams were so appreciative of a warm and delicious meal! We’d like to thank the entire South Portland Panda Express team for their incredible kindness- we are grateful for ALL of the ways they support our hospital and community.
