Panda Express Named 2016 Corporate Partner of the Year
Panda Express, the largest Asian restaurant chain in the United States, was recently named the 2016 Corporate Partner of the Year by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals).
The Corporate Partner of the Year award recognizes an outstanding organization that has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to CMN Hospitals or Foundations through innovative fundraising and awareness initiatives. The award announcement was part of CMN Hospitals’ 2017 Momentum event celebrated during Children’s Hospitals Week.
The family-owned company doubled their fundraising for the second year in a row as Panda Express guests and associates at more than 1,900 locations donated $10.6 million to CMN Hospitals in 2016.
The $10.6 million dollars represents an increase of nearly 116 percent in fundraising for CMN Hospitals over the previous year, bringing the total contribution to 123 network hospitals to $22.3 million.
Panda Cares, the philanthropic arm of Panda Restaurant Group, was created to directly serve the health and education needs of underserved children. Panda strives to make a difference in the communities in which they operate by donating their time and resources to organizations that promote health and education among underserved children. Panda Cares is powered by 30,000 associates in 48 states.
Panda’s culture of giving back within their communities is demonstrated at every store as Associates are encouraged to ask each customer if they would like to make a donation to their local children’s hospital—either through a donation box or round-up campaign at the register. Contributions are then listed on the customer receipt.
Congratulations to Panda Express for being named Corporate Partner of the Year.
