Celebrating Panda Cares Day!

Today, Children’s Hospital Colorado is celebrating Panda Cares Day!

Following the establishment of its inaugural Panda Cares Day™ in 2019, Panda Cares®, the philanthropic arm of Panda Express®, commemorates its anniversary on August 8 every year with a celebration of giving back. Today, we’re celebrating this incredible partnership and the impact it has had on our community.

Since 2007, Panda Express has raised funds for local children’s hospitals across the country through its partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. By asking every guest to round-up at the register, placing donation boxes in-store, engaging in the employee giving campaign, and fundraising with corporate partners through their annual golf tournament, Panda is one of the highest-giving corporate partners CMN Hospitals has. In 2020, even with ongoing impacts to the restaurant industry, Panda Express guests and associates raised more than $22M for CMN Hospitals, helping the organization change kids’ health and change the future.

Panda Express locations throughout Colorado, Wyoming, and western Nebraska raise funds for Children’s Hospital Colorado. In 2020 alone, Panda Express raised over $630,000!

In spring of 2022, Children’s Colorado will open a brand new Panda Cares Center of Hope®. This space will host a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) makerspace for patients and families, which will include new computers, 3D printers, green screens, laser cutters, digital instruments and more. The Panda Cares Center of Hope will be a place where patients and families at Children’s Colorado can create, learn and explore as children heal. Panda Express will also provide mobile makerspace carts to ensure that patients who can’t leave their hospital rooms also get to take part in these special opportunities.
